Creativity and time...no modeling program, just analysing hundreds of pict taken by anyone on different LEGO conventions all over the world. One of the major task during this "project" was to collect maximum picts and vidéos...even those who haven't been renamed by their owner...for exemple : I found excellent picts taken in 2005 named "DSC000823", invisible for a web browser.
RépondreSupprimerAfter collecting, the goal is to reproduce exactly what your eye can see (panels, towers, thrusters, turrets...)
Finally, conception of a solid LEGO structure able to support all elements you reproduced before,...at the right place.

They contacted me to know more about the internal structure of my starship.
They came to my home and they took hundreds of picts of my structure to complete their virtual model.
Now, in exchange, they are making an instruction book, I don't know what we will do with it, because each actor in the project must give its opinion.

RépondreSupprimerMerci pour l'intérêt que tu portes à ce vaisseau, mais je dois te mettre en garde sur le budget nécessaire pour réaliser un tel vaisseau.
Il est impossible pour un particulier de bosser sur la notice SEUL... La notice ferait presque 12000 étapes !...soit plus de 15 fois la notice de l'UCS MILLENNIUM FALCON !... une équipe de chez DASSAULT SYSTEMES travaille actuellement sur la notice, ils me font part régulièrement de leurs progrès, mais ils mettront surement plus d'un an avant de la finaliser et nous ne nous sommes pas encore mis d'accord sur ce que nous en ferons.

Les pièces ont été commandées via le site BRICKLINK, qui centralise des vendeurs de pièces LEGO du monde entier.
RépondreSupprimerCes pièces sont parfois vendues au détail, neuves ou d'occasion, parfois avec des minima d'achats.
Certains shop sont géants et permettent l'achat de très grosses quantités de pièces comme le shop français 1001bricks sur BRICKLINK, qui m'a bien aidé, d'autres vendeurs sont de simples particuliers qui vendent de la pièce rare, parfois usagée en quantité bien plus limitée...

Bravo pour ton travail, ta volonté d'aller jusqu'au bout de cet incroyable projet malgré les difficultés de réunir les pièces et de n'avoir utilisé que du LEGO pour la structure, etc.

at this time, I'm meeting many problems :
1-some personns in the team, who working on this instructions book since the beginning, are now leaving the project. They got other professional opportunities.
2-new persons are arriving and I need to train them.
3-the task is extremely harsh and these persons doesn't want to spend so much time of hard work for nothing. The book is around 8000 sheets !...
4-a "copyright" problem appears, and we are using a extremely expensive software.
the best way would be to find a donation system. We're actually estimating funding needs.
By the way, this model is actually available in a very very small number as a complete model, but remains extremely expensive.
